Research & Publishing

Research is Tapestry’s primary force for generating knowledge for change-makers. Research forms the base of Tapestry's public presentations and publications (books, articles, and websites). Dr. Kemmerer, who has published more than a dozen books, more than one hundred articles, and has given hundreds of talks worldwide, is the internationally acclaimed scholar behind works produced by Tapestry.

In the last four years, Tapestry has published four books, and has since published second editions for two of those books: Animals and Christianity and Vegan Ethics: AMORE. The former is part of Tapestry’s Animals and Religion Program parallelling the Animals and Religion Website; the latter is perhaps the best representation of Tapestry’s vision and mission in print.

Using the acronym AMORE, Vegan Ethics explores interfacing moral concerns quelled by choosing to be vegan: Anymals, Medical, Oppressions, Religions, and Earth (or the Environment). The oppression chapter covers world hunger and labor concerns alongside sexism, classism, capitalism, racism, ableism, ageism, homophobia, trans-aggression, and speciesism, and exemplifies the the focus and breadth of Tapestry’s research and publications.

Vegan Ethics: AMORE addresses this complicated material in a succinct, systematic, and accessible style with intent to empower change-makers such as activists and educators in anymal studies, social justice studies, and ethics. As with all Tapestry books, 100% of funds generated by Vegan Ethics: AMORE are returned to Tapestry to fund more research and writing.
