Exploring Religious Ethics & Animals
People of faith harm anymals in the name of religion, yet every major religion teaches kindness and respect for anymals. The Animals & Religion Website exposes and corrects this disconnect by providing comprehensive, systematic, well-vetted information from core sacred texts—information developed and reviewed by scholars who stand inside each religious tradition.
The Animals and Religion Website is designed for people of faith, anymal activists, and scholars and students (in anymal studies and religious studies). The website dismantles myths and reshapes how people of faith view anymals and their responsibilities to anymals, including the ethics of food choices.
More than three-quarters of humanity claims a religion—the Animals and Religion Website will be a godsend for
anymal activists working with people of faith,
those teaching (and studying) anymal studies and religious ethics,
people of faith who care about anymuls, and
anymals themselves, particularly in communities of faith.
