Our Vision

Tapestry envisions a world where all life and the earth itself are free from exploitation—a vegan world where animals, human beings, and earth are treated with care, dignity, and respect.

With roots deep in animal activism, Tapestry recognizes that all social justice concerns are deeply interconnected, and our work invariably connects animal exploitation with other concerns, including environmental degradation (climate change, deforestation, freshwater reduction, water pollution, soil erosion), world hunger (especially the dairy industry), medical concerns (zoonotic illnesses, antibiotic resistance, and the most common killers in wealthier nations, including cancer and heart disease), and human oppressions (including classism, sexism, and racism).

Our Mission

Three strands shape Tapestry—academics, work in the field, and the arts. Tapestry is at the forefront of discovering, compiling, and sharing well-vetted information with those best-positioned to bring change—scholars, activists, and in some cases, people of faith. Tapestry also transports and rehabilitates wildlife, helps at shelters, addresses environmental problem, and with our Hospitality Challenge, promotes vegan options on menus. Tapestry also creates and encourages art as activism.
