Animals & Religion
WEBSITE PROJECT
Exploring Religious Ethics and Animals
People of faith harm animals in the name of religion, yet every major religion teaches kindness and respect for animals. The Animals & Religion Website exposes and corrects this disconnect by providing comprehensive, systematic, well-vetted information about core religious ethics and animals—information developed and reviewed by scholars who stand inside each religious tradition.
The Animals and Religion Website is designed for people of faith, animal activists, and scholars and students in animal studies and religious studies. The website dismantles myths, reshaping how people of faith view animals and their responsibilities to animals, including what we eat.
More than three-quarters of humanity claims a religion. The Animals and Religion Website will be a godsend for animal activists working with people of faith, those teaching (and learning about) animal studies and religious ethics, and for animals in communities of faith.
