About the CampaignThe Campaign for a U.S. Department of Peace is a grassroots lobbying effort undertaken by independent campaigns in each state. The state campaigns are established in partnership and support of The Peace Alliance, the national lobbying organization for the legislation. The campaign is active in all 50 states, with congressional district team leaders in over 280 of the country's 440 congressional districts (includes non-voting districts such as DC). To learn more about the campaign visit the campaign section of The Peace Alliance website. In addition a global movement for the establishment of Departments and Ministries of Peace has developed. More than 5 countries have significant lobbying efforts underway. Many other countries are in early stages of organizing. See The International People's Initiative for Departments of Peace for more information. The New England Department of Peace Conference is being organized by the state campaigns in the New England states in coordination with The Peace Alliance.
